COSAL to Honor Rebecca Kelly Slaughter with Champion of Economic Justice Award

Members of COSAL from across the country will gather in Washington, D.C., on November 4 for a gala dinner celebrating COSAL's 40th anniversary.

One highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the COSAL Champion of Economic Justice Award to Rebecca Kelly Slaughter.

Throughout her career in public service, Rebecca has been a fearless advocate for consumers, competition, and the rule of law. As a Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission, she helped shape modern competition policy while championing vigorous antitrust enforcement, consumer protection, and fairness in the marketplace.

Rebecca also demonstrated extraordinary leadership in defending the independence of the FTC. After her removal from the Commission, she challenged the action in court, taking the fight all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court in defense of the principles underlying independent federal agencies. Her willingness to stand up for institutional integrity and the rule of law has further solidified her place as one of the leading voices in antitrust and consumer protection.

The COSAL Champion of Economic Justice Award recognizes individuals whose leadership has advanced competition, fairness, and economic justice. Rebecca's unwavering commitment to these ideals makes her a deserving recipient of this honor.
