COSAL Applauds Introduction of the Competitive Prices Act

Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA) has introduced the Competitive Prices Act—a meaningful step toward strengthening enforcement against corporate price-fixing and protecting fair competition.

In the announcement, Deborah Elman, President of the Committee to Support the Antitrust Laws, underscored the urgency of this effort:

"All too often, complaints alleging price fixing are dismissed prematurely. Decades of harmful case law has allowed anticompetitive behavior to go unchecked, raising prices for consumers and stifling entrepreneurship in consolidated markets. We applaud Representative Scanlon for introducing the Competitive Prices Act, which will further empower public and private enforcers to bring cases against illegal price fixing and make markets fairer for consumers and small businesses."
