COSAL/Justice Catalyst Fellow Announced

COSAL is thrilled to announce DaJonna Richardson as the inaugural Jonathan W. Cuneo COSAL/Justice Catalyst fellow. She will work in antitrust litigation at Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca LLP in Washington D.C. We received great interest and tremendous candidates and look forward to the future of the fellowship program. Thank you to all firms that participated. The COSAL Selection Committee was comprised of officers Kellie Lerner, Greg Asciolla, Deborah Elman, and myself.

COSAL is proud to partner with Justice Catalyst on the Jonathan W. Cuneo COSAL/Justice Catalyst Fellowship. This fellowship enables new lawyers to pursue a career in antitrust litigation and to gain a foothold in the antitrust legal community through engagement with COSAL. "Investing in young antitrust lawyers strengthens this crucial tool for accountability within the U.S. legal system," said COSAL Executive Director Pamela Gilbert.  “Nobody believed in the power of young lawyers to make a difference more than Jon Cuneo and we are thrilled to support his vision with this Fellowship named in his honor.”

Ms. Richardson will work in antitrust and related matters with an emphasis on enforcing antitrust laws in order to help create a level playing field for small businesses and consumers. With previous experience as a teacher, DaJonna's passion for legislation, technology, and community development led her to pursue a law degree at the University of Colorado Boulder with a focus on technology law, data privacy, international law, and antitrust. “My goal is to leverage my legal skills and knowledge to provide effective and ethical solutions for diverse and complex challenges in an evolving legal landscape,” said DaJonna.

The COSAL and Justice Catalyst believe that the enforcement of antitrust laws is crucial to promote class equity in the United States. By preventing large corporations from dominating markets and engaging in anti-competitive practices, antitrust laws help create a level playing field for small businesses and consumers, leading to increased competition, innovation, and fair prices. This, in turn, can help reduce economic inequality and promote a more equitable distribution of wealth and opportunities for all.

The Jonathan W. Cuneo COSAL/Justice Catalyst Fellowship was created in 2023 in memory of the late Jonathan W. Cuneo, a prominent Washington lawyer who represented plaintiffs in major class action, price-fixing, and antitrust litigation against auto parts manufacturers, Enron Corp. and other large companies. Cuneo helped to found COSAL in 1985 and dedicated his career to promoting the enforcement of antitrust laws to the benefit of consumers.
